Rancho Cucamonga Landscaping:
Curb Appeal
This cute house in Rancho Cucamonga was hiding behind a green monster of a shrub and needed some TLC from our landscape installation crew to show off it’s good points. We cleared out the old landscaping, did a complete turf removal and went back to a clean slate. The landscape design added a curved courtyard wall and pilasters with a honey colored natural stone veneer and Bluestone flagstone cap. The new walkway flows to the front door, providing a beautiful entry for guests. We used Bluestone full color flagstone bands to give the walkway and courtyard structure and style. The semi-circle of high quality artificial turf contrasts with the vanilla colored stone veneer on the courtyard walls and the new walkway.
Adding the wedge of bluestone along the driveway not only enhanced the curves that defined the entire layout, but gave us a way to add hardscaping without having the new concrete directly next to, and contrasting with, the existing driveway.
We updated the wood fencing with new vinyl fences and gates that add privacy from the street and section of fence with a gate screens a utility area from the view of the new rear patio area.
Landscape lighting includes traditional tulip style path lights and uplights for the trees. Plantings include crisp white Iceberg roses, hardy Blue Rug juniper and Rhaphiolepis to enhance the traditional feel of the architecture.

For the courtyard wall veneer we used “Cappuccino” rubble from AAA Natural Stone, and I highly recommend this company for their great products and customer service. We used a thick, natural edge Bluestone cap on the wall on pilasters. Bluestone flagstone was also used in the bands on the walkway and along the driveway.
The concrete patio area has more of the Bluestone flagstone bands and border and is covered by an Elitewood patio cover from Four Seasons Building Products.
All of the landscape lighting is from Yardbright.
Plantings in the front include Crepe Myrtle trees (Lagerstroemia), Iceberg roses, Abelia “Ed Goucher”, Raphiolepis “Ballerina” and “Clara” (Indian hawthorn varieties) and Cuphea hysoppifolia (Mexican heather). The rear yard plantings include a Podocarpus macrophyllus hedge, “Peter Pan” Agapanthus, Hibiscus and Pittosorum “Wheeler’s Dwarf” and “Cream de Mint”.
