Coyote Canyon Turf Removal: California Native Garden
These clients had hired Clements Landscape and Pool Construction previously to re-do their back yard, and now it was time to make over the front. This sought after and wind swept neighborhood of in the Coyote Canyon neighborhood of Fontana was a sea of thirsty lawns, and the clients wanted to make a complete change and tear out the turf and use exclusively California native plants. With the exception of the Palo Verde we came up with a palette of native plants that are able to withstand the strong winds and bring back local pollinators.
We added a courtyard by removing the porch railing and adding concrete and an “L” shaped seating wall with a smooth concrete cap. A new staggered walkway leads visitors to the front door. Mocha brown decorative rock contrasts with gold decomposed granite for contrast and are separated by a concrete band for structure and balance.
